Betsy and her husband homeschooled their daughter all the way from preschool through high school, and she is now a college student. She was accepted to several colleges, with scholarship offers from all. Betsy and her daughter sat down, did a lot of research, and came up with a workable plan to make her high school years count. In Homeschooling High School with College in Mind, Betsy shares how she covered all the bases for college admission, and she even includes reproducible forms to make this task even easier for those of us with college bound homeschoolers.
If you are currently homeschooling a middle schooler, I urge you to check out Homeschooling High School with College in Mind. I have been homeschooling as long as Betsy has, and my oldest started college this year. I have two more kids to go, and I will be using Betsy’s tips to make our ‘high school planning toward college’ an easier process.

I homeschool my own children and all along our journey, I have sought out the wisdom of those who have preceded me like Betsy Sproger. I am excited to share that Betsy has now written a guide to college from a homeschooling perspective. Her book is based on her experience helping her gifted daughter get accepted by multiple colleges, including an ivy league university.
Sproger's, Homeschool High School with College in Mind, not only walks you through the process of preparing your child for college but provides you with templates and forms you can use along the way. She guides you through choosing courses with your student, how to maintain and keep records, how to calculate credit, tips for that dreaded college admissions essay, and so much more!
Her suggestions don’t push you into a box with an expectation that her way is the best way. She outlines what worked for her and gives suggestions for alternatives as well. She also outlines three distinct methods for earning credits – textbooks, hours, and mastery. Additionally, she provides an in-depth look at high school electives and extra-curricular activities.
Purchased for homeschooling in our home. Was useful and informative. Wishing it were longer though.
I wish I would have had this book when I homeschooled my children. Betsy has thought of everything a homeschooling parent needs in order to effectively prepare their children for the future! She really has thought of every detail. This is an amazing tool that is a must read for homeschool parents! I highly recommend this book!
I think normally that books this short are 99 cents. This was $3.99. I have read this woman's blogposts. I know she could have made this book longer. I have no idea why it is so short. It is a good book for what is in it.
